Going to the Vets tomorrow

Bobby and Ruby are getting their hips x-rayed tomorrow for the Hip-Score thing, both their parents got good scores so i'm hoping theirs will be good aswell.

They have to get a general anesthetic to get the X-Ray taken because they have to lie upside down with their legs up

They can't eat from 7 and can't drink from 12 lol, they're not going to be happy campers :L

Yeah thats right or they could vomit or be realy sick. I hope it all goes well for your dogs Harry

yeah its the anestetic that makes dogs sick, they'll be grand pal and let us know what their hip score is

The best is 0 (0-0 each side, very very rare) and the worst is like 108 (54-54 each side, if your dog was that bad it would have no back legs at all )

Bobby's mother was 6 (4-2) and his dad was less than 10 and Ruby's were both less than 10 aswell. The only thing is Ruby's broken leg might have damaged her score but it would be on only one side so it would be easy to explain to people wanting a really good hip-scored parents.

I'm hoping they'll get less than 10, the average is 14 GSD's is around 25-30 I think.

theres a fela that breeds working gsd here in limerick and they have an average of 8... show gsd's tend to have a bad score compaired to working dogs as their stand is totally different, the way the show dog is supposed to stand puts pressure on the gsds spine hips and knees which is why they are very prone to displecia and arthritis

I got the X-Ray's back on a 2 discs (one 4 each dog)

I just have to get Dad to sign them and then I have to go to the Bureau De Change and get myself 90 Pounds and send it off.

The vet said he thought they looked good but he couldn't do the actual scoring, only special BVA vets are allowed to do it.

fair play harry shows how much you care bout your dogs specially when were in a recession and when i was your age it was hard to get my hands on 90 yoyos lol

I am pretty good at getting money lol, but now the grass has stopped growing so has my income
