Exercise for Puppies Empty Exercise for Puppies

I heard a thing before that said '5minutes for every month old' so by the time he had his vaccinations he's be allowed around 15mins exercise, and that seems alright but when he's 5months he can still only have 25mins exercise and that seems very little, what do you people think? How much exericse should a young dog be getting?

Also how old would you say a pup should be before going on the walks in Dublin?

I was tolde this before by people with SBT's in UK. I think usually you will know when it's too much because there's kind of 3 main stages to a dog:

1. Baby - when they're small say up to about 5-6 months

2. Kid - Basically when they lose that real soft look to them

3. Adult - Full grown, in mind and body.

Once they get to 'kid' i'd say they could manage the association walks. E.G. Gypsy I would describe still as 'kid' even though in recent pics she looks almost fully grown. But at the last walk she would be 'kid'

Some puppys are more active than others. They all need to play, and if you have another young pup all the better. Its part of their exercise, they can interact with each other and act as pups. A short walk too, they will enjoy all the new scents and smells. It would be like a child in a big toy shop, and they can play with any toy they want. Sleep is vitally important too, helps them grow and develop nicely [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Do Pitbulls/Staffies get puppy food? I always thought it was for all dogs, but I was told smaller breeds didn't need it? I think i'm going to feed it anyway because I want my dog to be the best he can be Razz
whether its a poodle, a staffy or a jack Russel their all puppys and need puppy food harry, they would all have the same needs to grow into strong dogs with proper nourishment lol!

Every pup and bitch in pup should be fed puppy food. It has a much higher vitamin, calcium and mineral content.

That's what I thought :D Well actually for the huge dogs you don't feed it as they grow to fast and have joint problems, but thats only for Bullmastiff and up :D But the Bitch would get it.

all dog breeds should grow into what ever size their suppose to regardless of what you feed them unless they are lacking in something that can cause things such as "RICKETS" lack of calcium to the bones that usually is caused during puppy hood if their diet is not getting what it needs, it can also happen if the bitch is not getting her right nourishment as she doesn't produce the milk as often as she should to nurture the young pups.
