flirt poll

had butch out again today on the flirt poll, i have to say for a dog that i never really did this with and him being quite heavy he can move very fast and jump like a kangaroo being only doing this a week now with butch the first day only did 10 mins, left him the second day to see if he would get stiff as he wouldn't be used to this type of training but he was fine, now we are up to every day and did about 25 mins with him today, the dog would have kept going but i just dont want to over do it with him, ill try get some footage this week and post it up.
i had molly doing this too and she hurt her leg, i left her for a while to let her heal and when we got back into it she hurt herself again so its a no no for her as i dont want to leave her with an injury that will keep coming back and cause her trouble in the future.

is there any1 else doing stuff with their dogs coming up to meeting the ACES crew?
i was chatting to ady and if you are be sure to worm them up before even with a walk, make sure that they have emptied themselves and when finished to cool them down maybe with another small walk, this is very important.

If you're exercising in the morning, I would 'walk-to-empty' Which is basically walking until he takes a Sh*t and then he won't be uncomfortable while working on the flirt or running with a Bike etc. It also helps them warm up.

I have had Hank doing it now for a while but only recently found my long horse lunge whip. I did have a home made effort a fairly thick tree branch with a long line and a piece of rope hanging of the end. The first one lasted 5 minutes, Hank managed to jump up get the timber which broke in two and he tore up the field and didnt come back until he had flittered it. I find it hard to keep it out of his reach he gets it every time and its not easy to get back I'll tell ya. Get your video up Lilly I have a feeling I am doing this wrong either that or I am in seriuos need of a trainer myself LOL

soze is a big boy and he can do some moving, still like a rocket even after the stroke.... i wouldnt do anything with him coz im afraid ill do more damage.... shelby is a bundle of energy and up for anything... gonna get stuck in with my training in a week or so want daisy to be fully healed first.... what i was doing was walking them down to the field, let them have a little run around for about 5 mins then use the flirt pole for about 15 mins, another run around for 5 then walk home. took about 45 mins in total not sure if i was over doing it but they would be well shattered when they got home.

lol im on my own out here most the time so its a little hard to get the footage unless some1 is with me, but what i was going to do was place the camera on something that can see us but the only thing is if we both
get to excited i just might not see the ripper coming and maybe running off with my camera

Just put on the window sill or something.

you guys are doing loads, I usually bike, flirt and springpole with my lot but all Ive been doing recently is walking them as the baby has me up all night and Im exhausted.

yeah it can be hard going when you have a new baby to look after, my little man is 16 and he still never sleeps a full night, it can get very exhausting at times so i know where your coming from.

Yea, their really easy... I only had English and Business so far, I was finished the BS in an hour an a half today lol, I learned how to make music with a bottle and your nose lol...
