IPBTA league
The league will be run over 8 days spread out across the calendar between March and September. This is to try accommodate people travelling long distances.
It will consist of 6 disciplines broken into 3 categories, speed, power and agility. This is to give every dog an equal chance to showcase there particular strength. There will be two disciplines from each category, our speed disciplines will be Hurdles and Speed Pull, our agility disciplines will be A-frame and Long Jump and our power disciplines will be weight lift and vertical climb.
Each activity will be ran four times and will be scored from first to tenth. The scoring system is as follows.
1st. 25pts
2nd. 18pts
3rd. 15pts
4th. 12pts
5th. 10pts
6th. 8pts
7th. 6pts
8th. 4pts
9th. 2pts
10th. 1pts.
At the end of the year all the points will be added together and will determine each disciplines winner and our overall league champion.
NB All dogs can attend league days and participate but to gain points dogs must be reg members. details can be found http://www.irelandspitbullterrierassociatio.net/t2390-ipbta-annual-membership-application#31685

Hello Lanre John Paul welcome to IPBTA. If you are able to attend our training day next Sunday try and come along and get to know a bit about what we do. Your dog is too young to compete at the moment but sundays are a great way to get started and socialise your APBT. If you have any pics would love to see them. Jules

"Each activity will be run 4 times"
This is 4 times over the year? So not all events will be on the same day, I'm assuming. If so, good thinking Batman
Oh, and 'Lanre John Paul' you should bring your pup, I have a 7 month old Blue Staff and Phil has a pup just about the same age as yours so there'll be plenty of other dogs there that haven't done it before. We might even run them together I something along those lines, that'd be some laugh!

Ye exactly harry, our objective is to get three activities done a day, this is partly the reason the training days are starting back up early so we can train ourselves onto running thing's very efficiently and make it easier when the league starts.

Re: IPBTA league
Okay lads were going to be kicking off the league on Sunday the 11th of March so get your registrations in for the year so you don't miss out.
On the day we will be doing 100mtr hurdles we will also be doing the A-Frame and we will be finishing up with the weight lift.
League points will be awarded on the day so this is one not to be missed!!!!!!!
This coming Sunday will be the last chance you have to get some training in with your dog so try get up to that aswell and if you havnt already registered for the league thaen you can also do so this coming Sunday.

Re: IPBTA league
No that's a championship day with championship points up for grabs, it's separate to the league. The championship points system is totally different to the league point system.

http://www.irelandspitbullterrierassociatio.net/t2390-ipbta-annual-membership-application#31685
If you cant make it on sunday you can post on details to me. To make sure things run efficiently and smoothly on the day of league or champ days I will be able to take registration on the morning of.. .....providing none of the events have started. Once the first dog has run an event you can reg but will not be eligable for points on that day.

Re: IPBTA league
Haha, well technically the hurdles are the lure just with obstacles in front but if your dogs aren't game , the plan is to lower to one hurdle for dogs under 19" at the whithers.
