A springpole is realy good for a dog, any unwanted weight at the chest and neck can be burned off. The muscle tissue would develop much quicker. If you check the first photo off a pup i had, staring in the window. He was 9 mths and in great shape, i just let him work the pole at his pace. You have to be carefull too that your dog doesnt injure its self.

Some dogs like a bit of extra tension to pull out of, but in case you injured him. I'd start him off with a bit off soft leather cloth at 6 wks, you hold it and let him tug out of it. You'll be surprised how strong their little jaws are and how long they will play for :D

I got a heavy weight spring a rope tied onto it and an old leather football. He doesnt realy work it anymore, but it depends on the dogs character.

Diane Jessup is rescuing Pitbulls for many years. Some proffesionals dont agree with some of her trainning and they had many heated debates

I know, is she the 1 who puts pits as sniffers/detection dogs etc. had an argument with her over a man called Ed Farone he bred Pits called Wildside pits, he had his own bloodline!! He took dogs in that had been fought and had scars, but the cops inspected his property and found them and he got put in prison because he wouldn't tell who he got them off, he was 78. All 94 of his dogs were taken and killed 32 adults and 62 puppies were PTS for never doing anything! He wrote the book "The Total Game Dog"
