There's been a develpmont
Ok, so as most of you know, around September I was basically told I could get a new dog. My mam said it without thinking it through really, and she still doesn't like APBT's and has been trying to find a way of backing out of the agreement, moving the goalpost so to speak.
Also, over that time, I think I have matured alot, and last week I was thinking about what will happen when I have to go to Collage. I know that really, it wasn't going to be possible for me to bring my dog with me, so that would mean leaving him home with my family. My Dad had already said he will take care of my dog for me, but he works late quite often (Leaves at around 7.30 and gets back either 5.30 or 8.30 everyday, depending on whether he's working late or not) I couldn't expect him to exercise my dog as much as the dog would need when he works those hours. I also wouldn't trust my dog with my two sisters, they just don't really have the strength to manage an APBT.
So basically, I've decided I am going to go for another breed of dog, that is similar to the APBT and can still excel in the activities I like (Weight pulling, Spring Pole, Flirt Pole etc.) but does not have the very high maintenance needs of the type of Pit that I wanted to get. So I have decided I am going to get a Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I've seen from the ACES people, that the SBT can do very well in all the events, as evidenced by dogs like Ripley, Ronnie and many others.
So I told my Dad yesterday what I had been thinking about, and he thought it was a good idea. So then I called in my Mom, and perhaps the biggest shock of the whole thing, she was over the moon! (She has done lots of research on Staffs herself and has always liked them more) She was ecstatic that I won't be getting a Pitbull, and that I am thinking of the whole family, the 2 other dogs and the well-being of the new dog. She even basically said that she wouldn't mind him in the house (Which I had been planning on doing anyway )
So, in 5months or so time, I will hopefully have a new addition to the family... a BLUE one :D
The end

Re: There's been a develpmont
id say the best people to ask about that would be the uk guys, they all have fantastic dogs and could give you the advice being involved so much with the breed.

Re: There's been a develpmont
I mean I want to be able to go to Scotland and make some $$ off my auntie lol... it's the one thing that was stopping me getting a Red nose before lol.
I'm thinking now about AB's which would be less gifted in the racing side of things, but would be much better at the Strength events... and look really good... and I wouldn't have any trouble moving around lol... But I don't know how much running they could take, which would be a big no-no :L

The decisions I have to make now
I'm fairly sure it'll be a Staff tho, it's the only one that can do all the things I want to do
